Capillary Electrophoresis

Creating new clinical diagnostic testing pathways.

Capillary electrophoresis enables rapid and accurate protein analysis for the diagnosis and monitoring of major chronic and genetic diseases and is routinely used in clinical laboratories to screen serum and other body fluids for protein abnormalities.

The Sebia capillary electrophoresis (CE) instruments, CAPILLARYS family and MINICAP FLEX-PIERCING, are designed to provide complete automation, with fast protein separation at high resolution. Sebia CAPILLARYS family is widely used capillary electrophoresis system in clinical laboratories worldwide.

Unlike other technologies such as HPLC, Capillary electrophoresis offers a broad range menu enabling possible consolidation.

All assays available with capillary electrophoresis methodology can be analyzed on any system within the CAPILLARYS 3 family and the MINICAP FLEX-PIERCING, delivering consistent and reliable analytical performance across platforms.

About Capillary Electrophoresis

Sebia systems use capillary electrophoresis (CE) technology to separate and analyze charged molecules in a free solution. Using an alkaline buffer, molecules are separated based on their electrical charge and mobility, enabling highly accurate and reproducible results.

The CE process is driven by electroosmotic flow, which provides a consistent, uniform movement through the capillary. Unlike High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), which relies on a pumped flow, CE produces narrower peaks and improved resolution for enhanced analytical performance.

Sebia's capillary electrophoresis instruments feature multiple parallel capillaries that allow several samples to be analyzed simultaneously, providing scalable throughput to meet the needs of laboratories of all sizes.

Result traceability and data management are powered by Phoresis software, which enables users to view and review electrophoretic profiles, quantify results, monitor quality control metrics, and access advanced tools for workflow management and performance tracking.
